resonateThe Isle of Wight’s very own Resonate, winners of BBC TV’s ‘Comic Relief Does Glee Club’, will be joining Rob da Bank’s Music Club this Tuesday as well as playing this year’s Bestival.

Rob da Bank said today; “The title of Comic Relief Does Glee Club 2013 Winners is well deserved – big congratulations to Harriet, Jazz, Thea, Lizzie, Callum, Eloise and Jack, who managed to impress the voting public with their performance.  We can’t wait to see results of their planned eight-part vocal mash-up!”

Resonate are a group of friends who originally started singing with The Island Community Glee Club about three years ago. As Island Echo reported last week, they won the BBC TV ‘Comic Relief Does Glee Club’ competition, beating hundreds of other groups from right across the UK.

They will be just about coming down to earth in time for this Tuesday’s RdBMC at the Quay Arts Centre where they will be giving a vocal workshop for other young people their age who would like to learn more about how to use their voices as well as how to create wicked harmonies.

The seven members of Resonate usually sing in seven-part harmony, but during this workshop, we will be looking to beat that and get an EIGHT-part vocal mash-up recorded for IW Radio!

Also this month, the band Cherishport will take students through a loop pedal workshop, offering a hands-on experience for any budding musicians, as well as giving tips for beginners on how to start creating your own music using a loop pedal.

Groove & Rhythm workshops will come from from The Ohmz, looking at Drum’n’Bass techniques using Reggae, Dub & Hip Hop (focusing on feel, vibes & timing)

The usual workshops will be also be running, including :

.               Guitar, Bass, Singing and Live and Electric drums

.               Radio Presenting, Interviewing and Compering skills

.               Live Jamming with full backline, instruments and PA in the Theatre
