Neighbourhood policing officers in Ryde are trying to locate the rightful owner of a large amount of cash.
A white envelope stuffed with an undisclosed amount of money, of unknown denomination, was dropped in the Co-Op store in Anglesea Street, Ryde on Friday (25th October) at around 14:00.
Good samaritans handed the envelope in to Police, who are now using social media to attempt to locate the owner.
If you are the owner then call Police on 101, quoting reference 44190386428.

I would be more than happy to give it a good home .
Well Done to the honest person who handed over this cash, it is so fulfilling to see that honest people exist.
most people would have been at home five minutes later counting their newly found haul of cash, after ditching the envelope in the bin. Then to the pub for celebratory drinks – all day.
I hope that MOST people would have the decency to hand it over as the honest member of the public did in this case.
Surely they could check Co-op’s cctv?
Finger prints. I expect it is drug cash so likely the owner is known.
Have they asked all members of the planning committee? They usually have envelopes stuffed with cash.
