JMC Plant Hire in Merstone is asking Islanders to keep their eyes peeled for a generator that went missing this morning (Wednesday).

A petrol generator had been dropped out the back of a van towards the top end of Merstone Lane – and the plant hire firm is seeking for its safe return.

The driver of the van noticed the piece of equipment missing and returned to the area within minutes but had already been picked up by somebody else.

JMC has said that the generator has smart water identification.

A post on their Facebook at 11:23 page says:

“If anyone has found a petrol generator on the road at the top of Merstone Lane that had dropped out of a van please can you return it to us.

“In the few minutes it has taken for the driver to go back, someone has picked it up.

“This generator has smart water identification.
