The proactive work being carried out by Hampshire Constabulary to tackle illegal drug use and drugs supply continues on the island.
Police have said a vehicle was stopped on Clatterford Road in Newport on Saturday evening and the driver – a 20-year-old male – was found in possession of cannabis.
The suspect was dealt with by means of a community resolution whereby he must attend a drugs diversionary course.
A 27-year-old male was also dealt with by means of community resolution for possession of cannabis in Ryde High Street during the same day.
He is required to engage with drug services on the Island.
Early this morning (Monday), officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis from the driver of a car parked at Culver Down.
Their enquiries are ongoing.
Oh dear. More stern letters, wagging fingers and telling off’s coming then.

More action is good, but cynic might say it seems to be window dressing at the moment.
Need to get to the top of the chain at the end of the day, otherwise it’s just slapping wrists of easy targets.
Just legalise it all…. Canada USA Portugal to name a few places where it works…..
Have you visited these places and seen it working? I am all for a change in the way that drugs are viewed in the law, however, after a recent visit to San Fransisco, I wonder if legalisation is the answer…

Seems to me society and the law have given up on the fight with drugs? Why? Because the punishment is like a toothless tiger, pointless. Drugs have won because society and the law havent the stomach for real punishment. So we all lose.
