The Royal Hotel in Ventnor has firmly set its sights on a green future for the hotel and its residents.
Numerous environmentally friendly initiatives that minimise carbon footprint, and support the Island’s farmers, wildlife, and landscape are on the horizon.
The most recent investment is electric car charging facilities. The Royal Hotel is now the only destination on the Island that has 6 charging points in 1 location.
The recent appointment as a Gold member of Visit Isle of Wight’s Green Star scheme, shows The Royal’s commitment to minimising carbon footprint, reducing environmental impact, and inspires visitors to the Isle of Wight to choose sustainable travel options.
William Bailey said:
“As a business, we are doing our best to reduce our carbon footprint, whilst maintaining the luxurious experience that our guests expect from a stay at The Royal. To this end, we have introduced several eco-friendly initiatives, including working towards phasing out single-use plastics, and installing charging points for electric vehicles. We also plan to introduce beehives to The Royal in early 2020, and are planting a wild-flower meadow to support the local eco-system.”
