Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s 0-19 Service has launched a grant scheme aimed at 13-25-year-olds.
There are 5 grants available of up to £500 for young people to make a positive difference in their communities. Applicants must study, live, or work on the Isle of Wight or in Hampshire and be able to complete their chosen project by end of March 2027.
Young people can apply by themselves, with a friend, or part of a group (such as a school council, youth groups, student unions).
Lorna Digweed, Participation Facilitator in the 0-19 Service, said:
“As a public health service, a key aim is to help empower young people to understand and look after their personal health and wellbeing. This grant encourages them to take positive action in their local area through a grassroots project. In the past, we have been impressed with the creativity of young people and their passion to see their projects through, with the full support and guidance of NHS colleagues and our partners at Unloc.”
Previous projects include a 16-year-old clearing up a neglected alleyway in his Southampton neighbourhood, wellbeing ambassadors at a Romsey school installing a chicken coup for animal therapy, and a 16-year-old hosting a dedicated LGBTQ+ event in Havant.
The closing date for the grants is 5 November 2026. Successful applicants will be contacted by email.
