Cowes were knocked for 6 by the 2nd-from-bottom Blackfield & Langley in the Wessex Premier on Saturday (5th November).
After a slow start to the game, Yachtsman Harri Catania had the 1st chance for either side – a long range effort that went whistling past the upright.
However, after an early scare, the home side got into their stride with a goal from Charlie Rattley in the 20th minute (1-0). This was followed by a quick-fire Richard Bakary brace in the 31st (2-0) and 35th (3-0) minutes. 5 minutes from half time, Sam Woodward scored (4-0) to leave the Island’s finest trailing by 4 goals at the interval.

Worse was to follow for Cowes in an abject 2nd half display. Sam Woodward put the home side 5 goals to the good in the 53rd minute (5-0).
A push by Blackfield captain Zac Pickett on Harri Catania led to the referee seeing red, and the Yachtsmen played against 10 men for the final half hour of the game. However, Cowes failed to take advantage of their extra man, conceding a further goal in the 69th minute (6-0) when Sam Woodward completed his hat trick.
