Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted while on a bus travelling from Newport to Ryde.
The man was sat at the rear of the top deck on 7th October talking to another male and a woman between 6.10pm and 6.20pm – neither of whom he knows.
After around 10 minutes, the unknown male punched the victim in the head multiple times, before alighting the bus with the woman.
Officers have made a number of enquiries since this time and now have a CCTV image of the man we wish to speak to in connection with this incident.
He is described as being between 20 and 30-years-old, slim build and with brown hair.
Officers are also keen to speak to the woman who was involved in the conversation. She is described as being between 20 and 30-years-old, with blonde hair and a wearing a white top. She was carrying a number of shopping bags, including a blue Next bag.

Why the long delay in asking for help? I know they stopped Crimewatch as most were coloured and it didn’t ‘sit well’ with the PC world we now have to endure.
But perhaps the ECHO could run a monthly ‘mug shot’ of those wanted by the police along side your photo gallery.
This as the Island degenerates over the years could become a weekly, then a daily event.
3 months to get the CCTV footage? The police are underfunded and understaffed, but that should be day 1, right? They do train these people, or are they like every other person winging it at work that you know?
My last interaction with an officer in Ryde when I was helping an elderly lady who had forgotten where she lived, honestly, the guy was more challenged than she was at that moment in time.
He didn’t know what to do or say. Luckily another female officer was on hand soon after to not treat her like an unwanted puzzle.
