8 Isle of Wight businesses are up for gongs at the South’s tourism Oscars.
Tonight sees the gala ceremony for the Beautiful South Awards, which recognise tourism businesses across the South East of England of the highest standard.
Last year, 3 Island businesses were nominated for awards – this year sees that figure more than double.
Will Myles, Managing Director at Visit Isle of Wight said:
“The Beautiful South Awards are the pinnacle of tourism awards in the south of England.
“Entering these awards, it gives recognition for all the hard work that businesses put in throughout the year. It brings out the quality and our visitors to the Island are looking for quality product, quality experiences and having these awards, people can use it in their marketing and visitors can understand that they are coming to a quality island with quality products”.
Supported by Tourism South East, gold medal winners from tonight’s Beautiful South Awards will automatically be put forward for the Visit England Tourism Awards in March 2020
The Beautiful South Awards take place at the Grand Hotel in Brighton this evening (Tuesday).
