Wightlink has been honoured in the 2017 Loo of the Year Awards to find the best ‘away from home’ toilets in the UK.
The ferry company has been recognised with Platinum Awards for the onboard facilities on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne ships St Faith and St Clare after an independent inspection of the washrooms. It has also received a National Award.
Wightlink Operations Director Daryl Palmer says:
“I am proud of our colleagues who do their best every day to keep all of the toilets onboard our eight ferries and catamarans as clean and tidy as possible.”
Since 1987, the Loo of the Year Awards have been spotlighting the best washrooms in Britain and setting the standard for all the companies and organisations that provide top quality toilets for staff, customers and visitors. The awards are graded from Bronze to Platinum.
Each entry in the Awards receives an unannounced visit from an inspector and is assessed against 101 criteria including signage and décor, fixtures and fittings and overall standards of cleanliness and management.
