21-year-old Catherine Whittaker has pleaded guilty to wounding with intent following an assault on a man in Ryde last month.
Police were called to Union Street in the town at around 21:30 on Saturday 20th January following concerns for the welfare of a woman who was stopping traffic, as previously reported by Island Echo. Upon arrival officers discovered that a man, who was trying to be a good Samaritan, had been slashed across the face.
The attack has left the victim permanently scarred after he needed more than 30 stitches in hospital.
She will be sentenced on 26th April.
