The charity’s Community Engagement Manager, Lorraine White, says:

“Step into Christmas at our Frosty 5k – this fun winter run really has it all.

“Dance your way through a sea of waving snowmen, be dazzled by a giant 8m igloo of sparkly icicles, warm up in the cosy log cabin and fumble you way through icy fog. If ever there was an event to get you in the festive mood, this has got to be it.

“Come along and join in the festive fun while helping us raise money for Islanders affected by cancer.”

All money raised from the event, which is sponsored by Barratt Homes, will go to the IW branch of Wessex Cancer Trust.

There will also be a special prize for the event’s top Frosty fundraiser – a special trophy made by Sandown’s Glory Art Glass and sponsored by A Plan Insurance.

On site, there will also be a Winter Village with festive food, carol singers, an event stage and a giant snow globe for photos. Runners and their families will also be able to enjoy 10% off entry to Tapnell Farm Park by showing their medals.
