THE weather held out for the fifth annual Riverfest event which was held on Saturday, attracting an estimated 4000 people.
In a celebration of the River Medina, families from across the Island descended on Newport Quay to watch Vikings, Romans and the Wight Pirates carry out a number of reenactments and to browse the selection of food, crafts and charity stalls on display.
One highlight of the day was the arrival of a tall ship from The Little Brig Sailing Trust, a charity that operates the world’s smallest tall ships to provide the complete sailing experience to young people.
Dates are already being discussed for 2013!
