The Way Forward Programme are gearing up for this year’s Christmas show, The Journey to the Lamp. You will be familiar with the pantomime Aladdin: here is a new take on the traditional story. The cast and crew have been working long and hard to bring this amazing production to Medina Theatre to entertain the whole family this festive season. Aladdin has never seen anyone as beautiful as Jasmin before and when he meets her – wow! Love at first sight! However, before he can win her hand and heart he has to journey, along with Abu, across the desert to find the magic lamp so he can use it to grant the wishes he needs to win Jasmin’s heart. They meet lots of interesting characters along the way, have plenty of fun adventures and of course encounter problems but I’m sure there’s nothing that Aladdin and Abu can’t handle! Meanwhile, back home, Dame Way Jai Ho is also making sure Aladdin has the best welcome back party, causing havoc and mayhem along the way – and be prepared for her to need some help with some classic pantomime audience participation.
So get your best singing and shouting voices ready and prepare for a show filled with fun, adventure and maybe a little bit of mess! ‘Journey to the Lamp’ will be staged on 6th December at 18:45. Tickets are available now at http://www.medinatheatre.co.uk/article/way-forward-programme-presents-journey-lamp.
