The National Health Action Party, an organisation that campaigns for a publicly run and fully accountable NHS, have endorsed Isle of Wight Green Party candidate Vix Lowthion as the candidate who is most likely to protect health services on the Island.
The NHA Party have candidates standing across the country in a bid to help save the National Health Service, including Dr Louise Irvine against current health secretary Jeremy Hunt. The NHA are proud to endorse candidates outside the party who share their common purpose – to protect and champion public services.
Vix Lowthion has campaigned for the last 3 years against privatisation within the NHS and the ‘damaging’ STP plans which will see services transferred to the mainland.
Vix has said:
“I have attended local CCG meetings, sometimes as the only member of the public, supported doctors and nurses in their campaign for fair working conditions and marched alongside islanders to fight for the NHS.
“Increasing privatisation of clinical services is inefficient, damaging and putting lives at risk. NHS workers and entire communities are rightfully angry at seeing essential services slashed, and on the Isle of Wight the introduction of the STP will lead to entire services leaving the Island.
“Politicians, patients, health workers and management must take a stand in 2017 – and vote for a publicly run and accountable NHS. Together we can stand up for what really matters!”
Cross-party group More United have also endorsed Vix, alongside ‘Better for Britain’ who have publicly supported her campaign to become the Island’s next MP.
