Ventnor Botanic Garden curator Chris Kidd has been awarded The Kew Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to horticulture and the advancement of the profession.
Chris joins a list of previous recipients which includes David Attenborough and Alan Titchmarsh.
The Kew Medal recognises individuals whose work, dedication and influence have left a lasting mark on the horticultural world.
Ventnor Botanic Garden says Chris’ career exemplifies those qualities, highlighting his many years of commitment, expertise and service.
The garden says Chris has helped inspire colleagues, support the development of horticulture and champion the values at the heart of the profession.
Those who have worked alongside him will know not only the depth of knowledge and experience he brings to his work, but also the generosity with which he shares that knowledge, the garden added.
