Another great show coming up on the Island in just a few days is ‘The Shadow Factory’ staged by CAODS, based at Trinity Theatre in Cowes.
Director Gwen Stevens tells us that the company started rehearsing their latest production at Trinity in 2019.
Due to obvious reasons, they sadly had to postpone it twice but they are delighted that they are now ready to perform this month.
The Shadow Factory, by Howard Brenton, is a play based on true facts, depicting the time during the Blitz when the Supermarine factory at Woolston was bombed. This factory built the Spitfire and was crucial to the war effort.
The people of Southampton, already living in chaos, found the Ministry coming in with requisitions for garages, shops and laundries to build Spitfire parts in. The Ministry had more than one battle on their hands though, when the community came together and try to fight them.
You can See The Shadow Factory at Trinity on 21st – 23rd April at 19:30 and 24th at 14:30. Book on Trinity Theatre’s website at https://www.caods.org.uk or call 01983 295229.
