As the temperature rose, so did the smoke as the 39th annual Island Steam Show got underway at Havenstreet this Bank Holiday weekend.
The four-day event, held at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, attracted thousands of visitors who descended on the local attraction’s showground, with something for everyone in the hot Summer sunshine.
As always, a two-train service was operated between Friday and Monday allowing families to travel back in time and in style between Smallbrook and Wootton on the former main-line route. Meanwhile in Havenstreet, attractions included Reel Stunts in Action, a TV stunt show demostration, as well as the traditional fairground rides, steam engines and vintage cars, classic motorcycles and a variety of arts and crafts marquees.
Entertaining over 10,000 people, Joseph Peace amazed in the main arena with his impressive fire show as the crowds watched on in excitement as the impressive stunts, comedy and banter continued to roll.
