A team of six faced 31°c degree heat to complete the British 10k London to raise money for Ventnor-based charity St Catherine’s yesterday (Sunday).
The team were among 25,000 runners who took part in the race in the sweltering heat. The team was made up of three current St Catherine’s learners, two of their parents and St Catherine’s Marketing and Fundraising Manager, Susan Graves. The money they raise from sponsorship will support children and young people at St Catherine’s with speech, language and communication needs.
Susan Graves, Marketing and Fundraising Manager, said:
“The atmosphere was brilliant with supporters lining the route and cheering us on. The team all did so well to complete the race in difficult conditions, especially our learners who we are particularly proud of. Thank you to everyone who has supported us. ”
