The Isle of Wight College is celebrating the publication of a report by Ofsted today (Friday) following an inspection in May this year – the first in a number of years.
The overall conclusion of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate is that the College is currently rated as ‘Good’, with ‘Outstanding’ provision for learners with high needs and for adults.
Principal of the Isle of Wight College, Debbie Lavin, is elated with the assessment which is one of the best reports in the sector this year. She said:
“The College has consistently maintained a high level of student achievement, I am delighted that the work of the students and staff has been recognised and that the College remains one of the best in the country.
“For Ofsted to report that the College has created an environment where students feel valued, behaviour is good, students enjoy their studies and they are respectful of each other fills me with enormous pride.
“I am very pleased that the inspectors noted the college has an unremitting focus on the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning.
“I am also delighted for all my staff whose hard work and dedication provided the platform for the success our students have achieved.”
