Police are on the hunt for 2 power tools that were stolen during a burglary last month and were subsequently sold on.
The items – an electric Bosch hammer drill and an electric Dewalt sander – were sold sometime between the 30th and 31st May.
The burglary took place a few days prior on Lower Highland Road.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a 32-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, fraud by false representation and possession of a controlled drug of class B. He has since been released under investigation.
Isle of Wight Police have issued an appeal on Facebook this afternoon:
“We need your help. Have you purchased either of these 2 items?
“They were sold sometime over the 30th / 31st May 2020 and we really need them back.
“These items were stolen from a burglary a couple of days before. “

I can’t believe the police want find 2 power tools!! I had my workshop broken into 6 years ago I had numerous power tools taken to the total of
£60000 and the police didn’t want to know they wouldn’t let me put it on the iow radio news they told me it made the island look a bad place!!! And yet here we are looking for a sander!

They were probably stolen from a Copper.

Normally you buy such things from a man in a pub but pubs areshut so maybe bought in good faith from a man at a midnight car boot sale in a quiet laybye this is the island after all
