Island residents are being reminded that there is still time for patients, carers, friends and family members who have experienced local cancer services to share their experiences with commissioners and providers.
A survey launched by Healthwatch Isle of Wight has a particular focus on the co-ordination of services, travel to treatment and assistance if unwell. These focus areas were identified in a previous survey of cancer services undertaken by Healthwatch.
Joanna Smith, Healthwatch Isle of Wight Manager said:
“We understand that it may not be easy to sum up experiences in a few words and we really appreciate your willingness to share these. If you wish to share experiences not covered by this survey, you are most welcome to contact Healthwatch Isle of Wight to tell us about these”.
All feedback will be anonymised to ensure that commissioners and providers are unable to identify individuals or families, and any themes highlighted throughout the survey will be used to inform recommendations that will be closely monitored by Healthwatch Isle of Wight.

Alternatively hard copy surveys are available from the Healthwatch Information and Signposting team located within the Citizens Advice Bureau, at the Isle Help Advice Hub in Newport High Street or via People Matter based at the Independent Living Centre, 1-2 Bernard Way, Newport.
