In support of those effected by the tragic Grenfell Tower fire, the Isle of Wight Council is raising funds on behalf of the Island.
Colleagues including many from Adult Social Care are leading the way and have organised a sponsored spin session, supported by Wight Fit in Newport, for Sunday 16th July.
The spin session will be over a 12 hour period and monies raised through this campaign will be offered to the “British Red Cross London fire relief fund” in support of Grenfell Tower residents.
Carol Tozer, Director of Adult Social Services said:
“As a local authority, we know all too well the impact such an event could have on our community and how our public sector colleagues would be involved immediately and in the months and years to come”.

Cllr Clare Mosdell, Cabinet member for Adult Social Care and Public Health, who fully endorses the fundraising said:
“If such a tragic incident were ever to happen on the Isle of Wight, we know that others would support us in the way we are offering our support to Grenfell Tower residents and our public sector colleagues in Kensington and Chelsea”.
