42-year-old Lee Daniel died as a result of a road traffic collision after being struck by 2 separate cars, an inquest has heard.
At just before 20:30 on 7th September 2016 Mr Daniel was speeding along Coach Lane, Brading at around 45mph when a Nissan Almera turned into his path, resulting in the gardener being thrown from his motorcycle. Tragically, Mr Daniel of Green Lane, Ashey was then struck again by a second vehicle, a Kia Picanto.
Lee died in Southampton Hospital during the early hours of 8th September.
The inquest, held in Newport, has heard how traces of MDMA and cannabis were found in Mr Daniel’s urine, indicating previous use of the drugs. However, Caroline Sumerary, coroner for the Isle of Wight has been unable to say if drugs played a part in the crash.
No criminal charges have ever been brought against either driver.
