Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club took a large contingent to London last weekend for the British Rowing Indoor Championships.
The event, held at the Lee Valley Velodrome, saw 13 members take part with Kayleigh Batchelor putting in a dominant performance to take the gold medal in the Year 9 Girls race.
Riley Horrix finished just outside the medals in 4th spot, with crewmate Ethan Walters in 15th in their event.
Club debutant Jonjo Findlay recorded a new personal best for the 2k distance which secured him a top 30 finish. Carter Horrix, making his debut at this level of competition, finished in an excellent 7th place in the Year 7 boys.
The club also had several of their Masters squad competing at the event for the first time, with Kevin Faithfull producing the best result of the day finishing in 7th spot in a new personal best time.
SSRC will be hoping to finish the year on a high with several crews travelling to compete at Walton Small Boats Head on Saturday.
