Hundreds lined the streets of Shanklin last night (Saturday) as the annual illuminated carnival procession made it’s way through the town.
The weather stayed dry for the annual event, which saw a spectacular mixture of colour and fun light up the streets of Shanklin under the cover of darkness with floats twinkling as their lights shone bright.
Leading the way was Shanklin town’s fire appliance, entertaining the crowds with blues and twos, shortly followed by the Island’s carnival queens.
Although a smaller carnival than in previous years with fewer individual entries, George Jenkins Transport once again provided entertainment on a large scale, with two lorries and trailers entered, one on behalf of the Shanklin Rotary Club.
