2 crews and a single sculler from Ryde Rowing Club competed in what will almost certainly be their last mainland event of the season, travelling to the West Country to compete in the Dart Totnes ARC Autumn Head on Saturday (19th November).
The event was a time trial, with crews and scullers starting at intervals and racing in three divisions over a 3000-metre course on the River Dart.
Ryde had a Men’s J15 Double Scull of Charlie Watts and Isaac Gibson and a Men’s J18 Single Sculler – Bradley Whiting – racing in division 2. Charlie and Isaac finished in 38th position from 57 entries in the division in a time of 13 minutes 8 seconds but had limited opposition with no other crew in their category in the race. Bradley finished in 43rd place in a time of 13 minutes 17 seconds – in 5th place in his category.
The Ryde Club also had a Men’s Open Coxed Four of Charlie Watts, Will Hall, Bradley Whiting and Paddy Kearney, with Joe Bird coxing, competing in Division 3. They finished in 11th place in their division in a time of 12 minutes 45 seconds and were the 3rd Men’s Open Coxed 4 to finish.
