RYDE HARRIERS RECORD STRONG RESULTS AT WINCHESTER

The Ryde Harriers took part in a number of races over the weekend starting with the Hampshire Cross Country League for senior, veteran and under 20 women at  Sparsholt College, Winchester.

Justine Bacon came in 117th place with an impressive 33:59, followed by Samantha Fancourt in 127th place in 34:42 minutes. Natalie Rose finished in 174th place in 39:35. These were impressive results as a total of 228 runners participated in the run. The Women’s team came in 23rd overall with a total score of 418.

Adam Tuck came in 76th position and achieved this in 35:56 minutes.

Others races held across the weekend included the Winter Sugar Loaf Fell Run and a Remembrance run.

There were some impressive results in The Winter Sugarloaf fell race. Trevor McAlister came in first place out of the Ryde Harriers in 22nd position overall with a time of 00:52:20, followed by Bryan Jones in 30th position in a time of 00:53:36. Nigel Eldridge finished in 34th position in 00:56:05.

As for the ladies, Claire Campbell crossed the line in 63rd overall in 0:1:06:25 and Elaine Parry secured 69th position in a time of 0:1:09:02. Simon and Kathleen Levrier finished just second apart in a time of 0:1:58:41 and 01:58:40 respectively.
