Bestival curator, Rob da Bank, is bringing back his Music Club for 2014, in partnership with the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.
This month, students will be making a promotional video with ex-Rob da Bank’s Music Club student Chris Williams aka Cherishport.
The event takes place at Quay Arts, Newport between 17:00 and 19:00 on Wednesday 12th February and is open to 13-19 year olds. Entry is free. This year, the age limit has been raised to include 19-year-olds. Free squash and snacks provided.
What you can expect from the Music Club..
- Street Dancing – returns for 2014 – learn how to bust some moves!
- Karaoke – come and practise singing to songs you know before you perform
- Singing with Members of Resonate – harmonies, breathing techniques and warm ups
- Stand Up For Lyricism – Emmy J Mac & Buddy Carson will return with their amazing Stand Up For Lyricism Workshop: so Singers, Writers, Rappers, Spoken Word, if you’ve got something to say and want to be heard bring any words you have – or just your voice.
- Try out Guitar, Bass, Singing and Electric drums – no skills required teachers on hand!
- Radio Presenting, Interviewing and Compering skills – compere the live radio show!
- Live Jamming – with full backline, instruments and PA in the theatre
- DJ workshops – learn how to beat mix and scratch with our resident DJ set up
- Stage Craft – including breathing techniques, projecting the voice and body language
