The Rob da Bank Music Club is relaunching at Strings Bar & Venue, Newport on Tuesday 25th November 2025, 16:30–18:30, offering free, hands-on music and creative opportunities for young people aged 11–18.
Founded by DJ and festival curator Rob da Bank, the revitalised club aims to break down barriers for young Islanders – no experience is needed. Sessions will cover DJing and scratching on professional decks, songwriting and vocal coaching, live jam sessions on real instruments, plus behind-the-scenes skills like video production and stage management.
Rob da Bank says:
“Being on an island should never be a barrier to creativity – in fact, it’s the perfect place to spark it. This club is about giving young people the tools, space, and confidence to explore music, express themselves, and discover what they’re capable of. Whether it’s DJing, songwriting, or just finding your voice, we want every young Islander to know they belong in this world of creativity.”

The relaunch is supported by IOW Youth Trust, with a focus on confidence, connection and wellbeing.
Jo Dare, CEO IOW Youth Trust says:
“Music has the power to lift mood, build confidence, and create connection – all things that are vital to young people’s mental health. We’re proud to support the return of the Rob da Bank Music Club and help bring this creative opportunity to young islanders who need it most.”
