Due to a combination of predicted severe weather and vessel availability, Red Funnel will be operating a revised timetable on its Red Jet service between now and Tuesday.
It is thought that staffing issues – ‘vessel availability’ – are to blame for the cancellations, with the reduced timetable appearing to fit in around standard staffing patterns. Red Funnel have been citing ‘technical issues’ as the reason for a number of the recent cancellations on its West Cowes to Southampton service.
Red Funnel’s passenger vehicle ferry timetable is unaffected and will operate as normal – tickets for the Red Jet service are valid for use on all sailings to/from East Cowes.
The revised timetable is as follows:
Friday 5th January
An hourly service will operate, departing xx:45 from Southampton and xx:15 from West Cowes. An additional Red Jet sailing will operate from Southampton at 17:15 and will arrive at West Cowes at approx. 18:10
Saturday 6th January
