Red Funnel is partnering with Acclaim Logistics, the Isle of Wight and Southampton based parcel delivery specialist, to offer a unique door to door distribution service to customers on both sides of the Solent.
Launching on Monday (4th April), Acclaim will operate an impressive 20 cross-Solent deliveries per day, facilitating the same day delivery of parcels to and from the Isle of Wight.
Customers can choose between the Port-to-Port service where parcels are dropped and collected from Acclaim’s Receiving Centres in West Cowes and Southampton or opt for the new enhanced door-to-door service.
The new service means that parcels to the Isle of Wight that are dropped into the Southampton Receiving Centres before noon can be delivered to any Island address on the same day. Similarly, parcels collected from any Island address or dropped into the Receiving Centre in West Cowes can quickly be delivered to mainland addresses.
Cross-Solent Port to Port prices start from £8.50+VAT for consignments up to 10kgs rising to £32+VAT for consignments up to 40kgs. Larger items and palletised goods can be handled via Acclaim’s Totton Receiving Centre.
Customers requiring the Door to Door service are charged an additional £10+VAT per consignment up to 40kgs for delivery to Zone 1 postcodes PO30, PO31, PO32, PO35 & PO31-34 and £15+VAT to postcodes PO30, PO33, PO34 & PO35-41.
The Acclaim Parcel Receiving Centres are currently open Monday to Friday between 07:00-16:30 hrs with Saturday opening to follow. The Island’s centre is at 88 Place Road, Cowes.
