Thousands of people gathered along the shorelines of East Cowes and Cowes last night (Friday) for the annual Cowes Week Fireworks Finale, which was complimented by a heart-racing display by the Red Arrows.
The action kicked off at 19:30 when the unmistakable Red Arrows RAF display team flew across the mouth of the River Medina at incredible speed. Unfortunately, the day’s blue skies faded as the clouds moved in just 20 minutes before the Red Arrow’s arrival, but that didn’t stop a full display that wowed the crowds.
Come 21:30 the Lendy-sponsored fireworks took to the skies from a barge situated off Cowes, which this year appeared to be situated in a different location. Although notably short at just 15 minutes long, the display did not fail to impress and was enjoyed by all on both sides of the River.
