A 41-year-old man from Ryde is said to have sustained life-changing injuries in yesterday’s motorcycle crash on Beaper Shute, between Ryde and Brading.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a Range Rover Evoque towing a metal trailer collided with an orange and black motorcycle at the junction with Harding Shute.
Hampshire Constabulary are now appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened just before 13:27, to come forward.
The rider remains in a critical but stable condition at Southampton General Hospital. The driver of the Range Rover has escaped injury.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this collision, and the moments leading up to it, in order to establish the exact circumstances.
