Dressed in IOW Foodbank Green, volunteers and supporters are pushing Phil the supermarket Trolley around the Isle of Wight today to raise awareness of the provision.
Arriving via hovercraft this morning, Phil the Trolley will be visiting towns and villages across the Island hoping for food & cash donations to be made into the characterised trolley and green collection buckets.
Hovertravel’s managing director Neil Chapman, alongside Chief Captain Peter Mulhern, pushed the trolley on its first leg through the streets of Ryde.
Customers were entertained with live music at Hovertravel’s Ryde terminal this morning.
Phil and the volunteers now head to Wootton, Newport, Freshwater, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor.
