On 25th July, 3 riders traveled to the Mountbatten track in Portsmouth for the 3rd cat circuit race. James Pett, Andy Ward and Joe Staunton lined up with 30 other riders for the 40 minute race.

From the start and throughout, right up to the bell lap, there were numerous amounts of breakaway attempts of which none were successful. The Wightlink Wight Mountain riders worked hard to make sure of that.

As the pace increased during the final few laps the riders positioned themselves ready for the final sprint. Pett found himself in a tight spot but managing to find a gap and sprinting to the finish line for the win.
