Pan football club said goodbye to their long-serving manager Steve Case, who recently passed away, with a minute’s applause at Downside on Saturday (12th November).
40 balloons were released by spectators present at the Isle of Wight Division 1 game between Pan Community and West Wight to represent each of Steve’s 40 years as manager of Pan.
The game itself ended as a 2-2 draw with Ross Lacey and Ash Gulliver on target for Pan and Charlie Smeeton scoring a brace for West Wight.

W&B go 6 points clear in Division 1
Whitecroft & Barton are now 6 points clear of Shanklin at the top of Isle of Wight Division 1 after beating Sandown & Lake 1-4 at the Fairway Sports Complex thanks to a brace from Liam Harper and goals from Freddie Knowles and Ant Kettle. Unbeaten W&B have now amassed 43 points from a possible 45 in the season to date. However, 2nd-placed Shanklin – who remain unbeaten themselves – have 2 games in hand on the league leaders.
East Cowes Vics Reserves go top in Division 2
East Cowes Vics have gone top in Division 2 by beating Osborne Coburg 7-3 at Beatrice Avenue courtesy of an Aidan Sheerin hat trick and further strikes from Charlie Southcott, Jared Cousins, Jayden Yates and Mackinlay Blacklock.
2nd-placed Ventnor lost 3-4 at Watcombe Bottom against 3rd-placed Niton.
Shanklin reach 3rd round of Hampshire Trophy
Shanklin overcame Folland Sports Development 1-4 in the 2nd Round of the Hampshire Trophy thanks to a brace from George Carter-Knight and further goals from Matt Oatley and Kyle Drew.
