The concert then continues with three orchestral episodes from “Hansel and Gretel”. This will include the “Witches Ride” and “Gingerbread Waltz”.

The first half will conclude with the “Petite Suite de Concert” by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor – a composer close to the conductor’s heart as they share the home town of Croydon.

In the second half there will be a set of English dances by Arnold, which are great fun, followed by the well known Strauss Waltz “Roses from the South”, and finishing with the ballet score for “Billy the Kid” by Copeland.

This will truly be a concert of good melodious music suitable for all ages. The event starts at 19:30 and tickets are available from the Medina Theatre Box Office (tel: 01983 527020).

Details of next seasons programme as well as season ticket details will be available at the next concert and also on the orchestra’s website www.iwso.info
