The RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Centre at Clarence Road in East Cowes will be hosting a free open day this Sunday (26th May) – and you’re all invited!
Enjoy a guided tour of the workshops, seeing first-hand how lifeboats are manufactured and maintained at this unique facility using ‘LEAN’ processes.
The open day will offer the opportunity to meet the staff, crews and volunteers that keep the country’s inshore lifeboats ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
The naming of a new D Class inshore lifeboat will take place and there will be plenty of live music including a male voice choir, brass band and the RNLI’s own Ukulele Band and staff musicians.
Man overboard recovery demonstrations are to be held in the Marina by Cowes RNLI volunteer crew.
Tea and cake will be available and the RNLI Gift shop will be open.
This FREE event is being held between 10:00-16:00 at Clarence Road, East cowes PO32 6HB.

Not just tea and cake! Homemade burgers, sausages, bacon rolls, bbq pulled pork, sweet and savoury crepes and plenty more will be available too from Brownrigg’s ‘Food from the farm’ trailer.
