Residents living in Upper Ventnor have taken to social media to express their disgust after a planter was tipped over in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
The planter, which is located on Lowtherville Road with the junction of Newport Road, brings colour to the area for locals and visitors coming to and from Ventnor.
A number of residents have expressed their disappointment and are calling for the people responsible for the vandalism to come back and replace the now destroyed flowers.
“Disgraceful.. not to mention all the work that went in to doing it as well.”
“How sad that there are people who have to spoil things.”
“No excuse. Vandalism. If you are good at heart you will never do this.”
“What’s the point in trying to do anything for Upper Ventnor when there’s idiots that do this about. A good start to a New Year.“

Get used to it, as more and more homes are built, overcrowding and frustration builds up and people turn ever more vile. Hence most people in the countryside areas are nicer than those in built up areas.
With the UK being the dumping ground for the worlds dross now, more and more homes will be built here, adding to the future misery for residents. it will all get so much worse.
By the way did anyone notice the Renault car used in the recent Top gear showing of driving in Nepal, was an Island registration?
PS, You can be almost certain, that it will be those from ‘social’ housing, kept by charity tax credits who do such things. These people get subsidised rent and council tax, and charity via tax credits to fund their often unwanted offspring.
Cutting their money to the bone, would install in them more respect as now they ‘feel’ as thought the world ‘owes’ them a living, which it doesn’t.
A little poverty would give them more humility, which is what they now lack, thinking to have their ever increasing brood paid for by others ‘should’ be their right.
This rarely happens in places where people have to pay their own way in life without charity sensitively disguised as tax credits so as not to offend the scroungers, but sadly it then makes them feel it is not charity but a payment for bringing in yet another useless, sponger to keep from cradle to grave.
It’s only soil and plants? Just plant another?
Why don’t you do it?
not my problem mate
Another person or persons who have no respect and no conscience . If it was done in a state of drunkenness or under the influence of drugs and they now regret it. Then they could replace the plants and do the replanting work, and most people would forgive them
Not that alcohol and drugs are a justification for bad behaviour. But most people mature and learn from there mistakes. Sadly a few do not
Those few are responsible for many of the ills affecting our quality of life. They cost the country a disproportionate amount of money to clean up the mayhem left in their wake.
LJBD, and the weakness of people show it will ONLY get worse.
Years ago, to ‘do’ something whilst drunk, or drugged, would ADD to your sentence, as being drunk or drugged is a crime in itself. NOW the weak willed snowflakes ‘accept’ such tosh as an excuse.
Cut ALL their parents benefits for you can be CERTAIN that this rubbish comes from such homes. That’ll learn them
That said, it was an ugly pot of mostly weeds adorned with a dog doo bag and can.
