Specialist rehabilitation for people living with a long term neurological condition is now being offered on the Isle of Wight thanks to a new business venture by 2 clinical specialist occupational therapists.
With over 25 years experience working within all aspects of neurological rehabilitation, Helen Maddox and Cindy Prince have set up The Island Rehabilitation Practice to enhance recovery and help maintain the level of function patients have achieved with statutory organisations earlier in their rehabilitation journey.
The entrepreneurial duo are also offering a comprehensive training programme with a rehabilitative focus to care providers on the Island. The training will help provide improved client care, maintenance of independent living skills, increased job satisfaction, improved staff retention and better Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings.
Helen said:
“We currently have a unique standing on the Island, as there are no other agencies offering what we are able to provide. We firmly believe we can improve the quality of healthcare provision on the Isle of Wight.
“We aim to be a multi-disciplinary hub of clinical expertise by the end of the year, offering an evidence -based, clinically sound range of rehabilitation services to the adult population of the Island”.
