The staff at Osborne House in East Cowes are getting set for summer with a Midsummer Night in the estate’s gardens tonight (Friday).
To celebrate midsummer (21st June), the gardens and grounds of Osborne will host exclusive evening opening on the from 18:00 – 21:00 tonight. Visitors will be able to wander down to Queen Victoria’s private beach to play a game of skittles, indulge in a glass of wine with antipasti in the Terrace Restaurant or simply bring a picnic and enjoy the hazy light of evening in the garden.
Every half an hour from 19:00 until 20:30, there’s also a chance to join the gardeners for an expert insight into the history of the gardens, learn how they care for the site and pick up some tips to use at home. The talks will take place in the Walled Garden and on the Terrace.
Entry costs £5.00 for adults and £3.00 for children, English Heritage members go free.
