A mechanical issue with Wightlink’s Wight Ryder 2 is taking longer than expected to be repaired, resulting in an extended hourly service between Ryde and Portsmouth until at least 31st July.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a mechanical gremlin hit the Fastcat service on Friday just as commuters were heading home for the weekend.
An hourly service was introduced and then extended on Saturday. It was soon advised that the revised timetable would run throughout Sunday, and then until today (Wednesday).
Last night the cross-Solent operator confirmed that the hourly timetable will continue until Wednesday 31st July. Sailings will operate XX:15 past the hour from Portsmouth Harbour and XX:47 past the hour from Ryde.
