It was a night to remember for many yesterday (Thursday) as a variety of local Island talent took to the stage to battle it out for a spot at this years Bestival.
Bands, DJs, Choirs and Spoken Word artists performed in front of over 300 people for their place at one of the countries best festivals, at an intimate gig at Northwood House in Cowes.
For the first time, Choirs and Spoken Word artists were asked to join in the battle, making for an action-packed night with over 3 hours of truly magical performances.
Choosing a winner was a tough decision to make for the competition judges – Bestival curator Rob Da Bank, Level 42’s Mark King, Glyn Taylor and Emily Scotcher – but nevertheless, after lengthy discussions, the competition winners were announced with a shock double-winner for the Spoken Word category.
The winners for the 2013 Bestival competition are…
BAND – Signals
DJ – Longjack
SPOKEN WORD – Buddy Carson AND Lady Robinson
CHOIR – Wight Harmony
Congratulations to all of those who took part – We will see the winners at Bestival in September!
