Bestival founder & BBC Radio One DJ Rob da Bank will focus his talk on the importance of taking work placements seriously. Rob will talk primarily about how your very first touch-point with the world of work can connect you and set you up for the rest of your life if you take advantage of the opportunity. Hear about Rob’s experience (with a Q+A afterwards) – starts at 5.30pm

Also this month, local band Rachel’s Reason will be providing the guitar, bass & drums workshops, alongside our usual teachers. The Isle of Wight based band formed in 2010 following a well-received, impromptu jam on the Bestival Bandstand. Singer-songwriter Rachel Day was joined by Rafe Spencer (bass), Scott Anderson (lead guitar) and Doug Alldred (drums). Realising this exceptional group of talented musicians made her songs sound exactly the way they did in her head, Rachel christened the ensemble Rachel’s Reason and et voila – a new band was born at Bestival!

Other confirmed workshops & demos;

  • DJ workshops (5-7pm)
  • Live Music production with Lo (from New Order’s production team) (5-7pm)
  • AV workshops in the Gallery (5-7pm) with Lucy Boynton teaching photography to  AV techniques
  • Street Dancing (5.30 -6.30pm)
  • Guitar, Bass, Singing plus Live & Electric Drum Workshops 5-6pm (with option to move to the Theatre for the jamming session) (6-7pm)
