One of the Island’s largest motor groups, Leslies Motors, are set to open a new car showroom on the outskirts of Newport.
Planning permission has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council to transform the former Reynolds and Read yard at Blackwater into a 21st century dealership for either the Toyota or Hyundai brand.
The new showroom will be able to display 8 cars as well as having a full workshop with MOT facilities to allow for the complete customer experience.
As well as housing new cars, the site at Blackwater Hollow will be home to a large selection of used cars with a dedicated used car preparation centre on site.
Louis Vanassche, Manager of Leslies Motors has said:
“We are very excited to announce to creation of a new showroom on the Isle of Wight.
“With the new site being produced for either Toyota or Hyundai it will allow for the expansion of the current Sandown showroom which will renovated to bring it up to current franchise standards to make for a great customer experience.
“These two big investments on the Island will obviously be supporting employment with new full time roles being created at both the old and new sites”.
