Isle of Wight Day is to return for the second year running this coming Saturday (23rd September) and is promising to be even bigger and better, bringing together the whole of the Island community, friends, visitors and residents.
A number of events are taking place to celebrate all things Isle of Wight including a large Parade through the streets of Ryde.
The parade is hoping to the biggest the Island has seen (over 2000 entrants) and will move off from Dover Street at 13:00, running through the town and along the seafront to finish up at Simeon Rec. At Simoen Rec there will be stalls, entertainment, local produce and eateries plus a final burst of fireworks to end the day. Free for all the family – open from 10:00-22:00.
On Saturday night the Island’s Got Talent final will take place at Cowes Enterprise College.
12 finalists will battle it out to become overall winner, as judged by Mark King, Anneka Rice and Rob Da Bank. With the winner not only being awarded an Isle of Wight Day trophy but a place to perform at Bestival 2018 in Dorset. The winners from the Spoken Word competition will also perform and be awarded by Donna Jones MBE.
Tickets £5 for adults £2.50 for children (16 yrs and under). Doors open at 18:30.
