The year is Marching on – and we have another great crop of shows this month.
‘Heathers the Musical, Teen Edition’ comes to the IW College on 11th and 12th March. It is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D.

The tide is coming in… Join CAODS at Trinity Theatre on 14th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd March for ‘Sea Stories,’ an evening of intimate, captivating one-act plays set on the Island that explore the emotions, heartbreaks, and drama of the sea! In ‘The Telescope’, Sarah and Charles have moved to the Island for some quality time. They think Peter is spying on them through his telescope. But we find that looking through a telescope really can bring people closer.
‘The Souvenir’ travels across time to bring two stories together… The captain of the Souvenir refused to leave his ship when it ran aground off the Island in 1916; and, in the present day, Alan is trying to build a new life from the wreck of his marriage.Expect video projection, sound effects, original music, and stories that will make you smile, think and reflect. The senior students of Curtain Call Creative will be staging ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ at the Jenny Kerry Performing Arts Centre on 27th and 28th March. Packed with soaring melodies, dramatic confrontations, and a whole heap of haunting atmosphere, this musical explores love,

And finally, more Shakespeare, in the form of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which is being performed by the Apollo Theatre Players from 27th March to 4th April (not Sunday or Monday). ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ is one of Shakespeare’s most popular and widely performed plays.
The play is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue.
