The second rowing time trial, organised by the IOW Forum, is now gathering momentum.
Racing over the full 2000m course, gave another 29 crews a unique race experience as Ryde, Shanklin, and Newport rowing clubs battled it out on the river Medina on Sunday (6th June).
The fastest time in division 1 was recorded by Toby Batchelor of Newport in the single scull, with Ryde J16 Coxed 4 in second and Shanklin Junior Ladies 3rd. In division 2, Newport masters sculler Matt Whishaw recorded the quickest time, with the Shanklin Masters Four in hot pursuit, and J15 Single sculler Kayleigh Batchelor 3rd.
Excellent performances were seen across a range of boats, however, with the opportunity to test their developing technique under pressure.
Thank you to all club officials and volunteers for ensuring these trials can take place safely. The next time trials take place on Saturday, June 19th at 18:00.
