
Wight Eagles Ladies top Hampshire County Division 4 after beating Winchester Flyers 2-3 away from home on Sunday 2nd October.
The unbeaten Island side are now in 1st place, 1 point above Millbrook who they play in 2 weeks. Wight Eagles’ goals were scored by Chloe Lloyd, Daisy Chapman and club captain Ellena Boakes with a fantastic 20-yard free kick.
In Hampshire County Division 1, champions Shanklin lost their unbeaten record after a disappointing 2-1 defeat away at Bursledon. They became the first Island women’s side to have lost in the Hampshire League this season. Gemma Woodhouse was both goalscorer for Shanklin and player-of-the-match.
In Hampshire County Division 3, Cowes Sports Ladies had their game against Havant & Waterlooville Women at Westwood Park postponed.
